YCN MISSION
The Youth College Network (YCN) is a division of USA Dance, Inc. We organize numerous ballroom dance programs and events across the country, bringing the excitement and elegance of partner dancing to youth, high school, and collegiate students. We support and encourage competitive dancing through collegiate festivals held in the United States and in England.
We exist to create a network structure and provide support and promotion to new and existing clubs. The goals of the Youth College Network include the following:
- Initiate new partner dance programs at colleges, high schools, middle schools and primary schools where they do not yet exist.
- Encourage and provide support for new clubs.
- Help maintain the organization and enthusiasm of older clubs.
- Provide a standardized structure for competitive youth and collegiate dancing to ensure fairness and comparability.
- Promote inter-school communication through the means of newsletters, meetings and a web site.
- Produce a new generation of social dancers, competitive dancers and USA Dance leaders.
